Vaujany
is an idyllic alpine village with excellent facilities and
opportunities for adventure … or total relaxation.
There
are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes where you can wind down after
a hard day on the slopes. For livelier après-ski,
try the Swallow bar, or for something more relaxed, we recommend
Arsen's café or l'Etendard.
Alternatively,
you can indulge in a spot of retail therapy in shops that sell ski
gear, local produce and hand-made gifts.
Vaujany
doesn't pretend to offer a hectic night life. But if you enjoy
genuinely picturesque surroundings, good French food and the
opportunity to relax … it's exactly the place for you.
For
any non-skiers in your party, Vaujany offers exciting and interesting
daytime activities. Walking and snow-shoeing trips with qualified
guides can be arranged. And for something a little less strenuous, you
might also pay a visit to Vaujany's museums of local life and fauna.
If
an adrenaline rush tops your list of essential holiday ingredients,
however, then you may want to try your hand at paragliding or ice
climbing on the frozen La Fare waterfall.
Vaujany
also has a superb leisure centre which is open until 8pm or 9pm
throughout the winter. It boasts a large swimming pool, slides for the
kids, sauna and steam rooms, and keep fit facilities.
You
might in addition like to try ice-skating on Vaujany's open air ice
rink. Skates can be hired for a small charge and the rink is open most
evenings between 4 and 7pm.
Combined
with the facilities of neighbouring Oz en Oisans, Villard Reculas and
Alpe d'Huez, there really is something for everybody.
