Beginners
There
are plenty of easy slopes for beginners to learn basic techniques
situated in nearby Montfrais. We recommend the English-speaking ski
school, ESF,
who provide beginner's lessons on dedicated slopes.
Children
For
children aged 4 and 5, the local ski school, ESF,
provides an introduction to skiing in the nearby Jardin de Neige. The
children are met by ESF instructors in Vaujany and are taken to the
Jardin, where they spend the morning sliding, skiing and sledging in a
safe and secure environment. Following lunch on the mountain, they are
returned for afternoon care in the village crèche.
Children
6 years and older can be booked into morning or afternoon lessons with
ESF according to their ability and age.
Intermediates
and advanced
With
236km of pisted slopes - including one of Europe's longest black runs,
the 16km Sarenne - you may feel spoiled for choice. If you'd
like to take a private lesson, we recommend VO
Coaching or Masterclass
Ski School, which is based in Alpe d'Huez.
Powder experts
If
you're looking for off piste adventures, the Grandes Rousses will not
disappoint. There is skiing here to challenge even the very best.
However, we strongly recommend that you do not go off piste without a
qualified instructor or guide, and would be happy to make suitable
reservations for you.
Freestyling
The
nearby park in Montfrais is perfect for beginner
freestylers. It hosts regular events and competitions, giving
you fantastic opportunities to show us what you're made of. There are 2
additional parks in the Grandes Rousses area, each with a graded range
of jumps and rails.
Snowboarding
Vaujany
and the Grandes Rousses are ideal for boarders of all abilities. From
gentle nursery slopes in Montfrais through to steep off-piste powder
runs and freestyle parks, there is something for all level of ability
and experience.
